If you are fairly sedentary (most of us are) then part of navigating midlife in style revolves around finding something active you enjoy. It doesn't matter what it is as long as it burns calories, doesn't land you in jail, and is something you really crave.
One of my favorite activities is climbing. I'm afraid of heights and this gives me a rush that can only be reproduced with drugs I'm too chicken shit to take.I only get to do this a couple of times every three months or so. However, I do make it a point to train for the days I do get to go. This includes going to the gym to work physical weaknesses that affect my ability to climb.

If you can keep yourself doing something active at least 2 -3 times per week, you'll find that you are living a more satisfying life regardless of your circumstances. It just takes setting priorities and achieving goals that are required to make your desires a reality.
Find your passion and follow it. Remember that the fountain of youth is in your head.
