Someone left a comment for me on one of my sites requesting a step-by-step post on pull ups. I've been so far behind on all of my endeavors that I haven't been able to post anything. Then it dawned on my that some of the best articles on pull ups are already out there in cyberspace. There really is little use in reinventing the wheel so I'll throw out some links and add a few comments of my own. This should serve our purpose and get some of you linked to other cool sites from my blogroll.
The first article is from Harry at Elitefts.com. I've always enjoyed this site and although Harry might have his own site, I prefer reading what he wrote on Elitefts.com.

Here are my two cents. If you are just starting out and can't do pull ups with your own body weight, then your first goal should be to work up to that. Use whatever machines are at your disposal to take some of the weight off so that you can start to complete "good pull ups". This can be done with just a pull up bar and bands if you don't have a gym membership. Then work your way into doing pull ups with added weights hanging from your waist. It's a pretty straight forward scenario.
