| Low carbohydrate meals that taste great are coming!!! |
Everyone starts the new year and wants to get fit or at the very least lose a few pounds. A big part of that is taking on a new diet along with that new gym membership.
Surprisingly, it is not uncommon for novice and seasoned fitness fanatics to have lots of questions concerning what they should eat. We all know people who change their diets like they change their socks. They try grapefruit diets, warrior diets, juicer diets, low fat diets, etc., etc., ... I once stopped a friend from haphazardly combining multiple diets that could have literally put him in the hospital. Then there are those who follow the tune of "diets don't work so don't bother." I say to each his own, but the bottom line is that learning to eat for purpose instead of pleasure is neither easy nor popular.
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a road map through the complex world of eating for fitness?
This year we will be taking some of the most popular diets and dissecting them in order to see what makes them tick or not tick. The goal is to analyze and evaluate, but we won't be trying to sway anyone. In the end, diet is as personal a choice as you can get. You and only you should decide what goes inside your body. We hope we can help educate you in that respect.

| Low carbohydrate lasagna recipe will be here next month |
My personal choice of diet is a sort of carbohydrate modulation diet. My associates and I hold protein high, fats constant, and manipulate carbohydrates based on where we are in our training cycle. High volume / high intensity days require more carbs than deload days. We are usually forced to eat foods based on necessity rather than pleasure. This can be especially hard for me because I am a "foodie". I love food and wine. My wife has long been my hero because she comes up with amazing dishes that fit into our diet and taste incredible. She recently started perfecting favorites like low carb lasagna, low carb pizza, assorted low carb sweets, and the like. I've invited her to post some of the recipes she finds, alters, or invents. So this year, Fitmid-life.com is going to sizzle with flavor that will let you have your cake and eat it too!
