The Fountain of Youth?

The fountain does exist. It sits firmly in the will of each and every human being on the planet. It is difficult to reach but it can be had with a bit of logic and a little luck. Many have claimed to know the way, but few have delivered. We will always grow old and die. Fortunately, we can be stronger for longer in order to suck the marrow from the bones of this life. In the end, I guess it really is like an old movie cliche'. Everyone dies, but not everyone lives. What is the secret?

What do we do to access techniques and habits that can help us thrive throughout our lives?

It seems like everyone has an answer. You might be shocked to find out what some of the answers are.

Throughout my years of competative lifting, I've had to compete against a class of lifter that I like to call "enhanced". These are lifters that get help from synthetic testosterone, growth hormone, and other chemicals known to the public as "steroids". Some of these lifters are ethical and only compete in untested events. If you compete in an untested event, you know that someone is on something. As long as you go into the competition knowing that, I think it is OK. My Florida State Championship in the APF years ago is an example of this. I beat a group of guys that were definitly ON. There was a sense of respect between us because we knew the score. The other type of lifter slithers into tested competitions and plays the part of a natural. I don't waste my time trying to pinpoint these guys. Karma will get them in the end. The point is that in sport, steroid use is fairly common even in sports like powerlifting where the money is nonexistent. What does that have to do with the fountain of youth?

The bestselling book " The Life Plan" by Dr. Jerry S. Life focuses on a system that helps people to achieve youthful goals. The three main points are diet, exercise, and homrone therapy.

That's right! We all know that you start losing hormones as we get older so the good doctor simply recomends putting them back. I like this idea and it makes sense. There is only one issue. What happens if you put back more than what was there to begin with?

Bingo! You end up getting as huge and shredded as a bodybuilder who is "ON"!

I get it. I get it. If you are going to get synthetic growth hormones, testosterone, and other goodies pumped back into you, why not get enough to make an impression, right?

I've made it through my entire life without ever having to jump ON. I don't have a problem with people who do, but I definitely think it should be used as a last resort. If you were losing your sex drive or something, then I say go for it. If you are losing your six pack, you need to re-evaluate what you are doing. The good news is that you can go a long way without needing the same type of hormone therapy that sports athletes get shunned for using. You won't have to play the game of semantics concerning drug use either. You won't have to rationalize that drugs are ok if you are a certain age and need them to look good, but they aren't if you are a pro athlete and need them to compete and make a living.
