Look Strong vs. BE STRONG III



So we have established that there are two basic types of resistance training.  Keep in mind that they really aren’t separate because you can never really do only one.  Functional training is most closely related to sports like weightlifting or powerlifting in which athletes execute movements of maximum intensity / low duration.  Structural training is most closely related to bodybuilding in which athletes are on a quest for muscle size at all costs.  




Each type of training bleeds into the other quite a bit.  The point is that for superior strength, one usually must focus more on the functional (once a minimal structural level has been met).  Other details factor into which should be pursued by the athlete and Dr. Siff thought this was best determined by assessing the strength deficit.  For now, let’s just focus on the fact that strength increase is initiated by neuromuscular stimulation.
